Raised in Chicago, Sharon Etter began her art career at Evanston Township High School, where her love for fine art became a craft to perfect. She continued her fine art studies at Northern Illinois University and found her unique style. Upon graduation in 1998 with a B.F.A., Sharon immersed herself in the Chicago art community. With several solo shows to her credit, Sharon continues to create work and searches for non-traditional spaces to show it.

Sharon began to concentrate on a completely non-representational, abstract style. Subject matter in her work is secondary. Color, composition, and spacial relationships are the forefront of her work. Recently, WaterSignBlue has added graphic design to its resume. Work includes: logo design, web layout, illustrations, etc.

Lastly, WaterSignBlue is a collection of cards to be sent as not only a greeting, but as a work of art unto itself. Each card design is created by a single artist. Some cards have additional mixed media incorporated into the focal design. And each card is hand made and individually signed by the artist which gives WaterSignBlue an edge over the mass-produced, manufactured cards.
